WOW!house

This Month’s Highlight

Kicking off the month of June is the return of the WOW!house at the London Design Centre, Chelsea Harbour.

This annual event stretches the length of the building’s Design Avenue and is filled with 19 room sets and out door spaces, all designed by the most incredible Interior Designers. Each designer has free rein to let their inspirations run wild and I couldn’t wait to step into their worlds.

WOW!Rooms

As soon as you enter the space you are transported into the wonderful minds of the interior designers. Setting the scene was the Zoffany entrance Hall by Benedict Foley. Picture the finest silks, embroidered fabrics, marble etc all inspired by Italian ballrooms.

This leads you perfectly into one of my favourite rooms, Watts 1874 by Alidad. After speaking with Alidad I could not believe that the room was installed in five days. The way Alidad brings a room to life through layers of design, textiles and antiques is beyond exquisite.

Swan Lake

A complete contrast to the rich colours of the Legend room, but equally one of my favourites is the Charles Erwin Library by Andrea Benedettini. Here we have a masterclass in how to create an immersive space with a refined colour palate. Inspired by Andrea’s love of ballet the room has a wonderful elegance and movement to it. Layering of carefully chosen fabrics and the use of bespoke one-off pieces helps create a thought provoking and timeless design.

A Unique Blend

The Tissus D’Helene Drawing room by Guy Goodfellow has carefully blended the old with the new and created a timeless and unique design.

The room has multiple seating areas in which you can kick back and appreciate the decorative finishes such as the coffered ceiling, artisanal fabrics, Japanese porcelain and the large-scale antique fireplace. The considered blend of modern and antique pieces and architectural detailing is prevalent and very much expected from Guy Goodfellow. A room which certainly does not disappoint.

Trends

These 19 rooms are far from trend focused but some common threads were the use of recycled materials such as swimsuits for bathroom flooring, Turkish cushion design details and the return of the coffee table.

WOW!House 2024 is a must see event and is open now until Thursday 4 July 2024.
