Your windows really are the eyes of your home and the way you dress them can offer just as much to the design of a room as the furniture. Not only does the style you choose need to be attractive, the design will also dictate the light that casts into your room and the amount of privacy.

When I meet with clients we often discuss the best window treatments for their design scheme so that they have a more informed idea before chatting with curtain makers. There are many options to choose and consider with any window treatment which can be a bit mind boggling. So, I thought I would share a document I wrote a few years ago on different window treatments and the details behind them. This will be in three parts - the first part about curtains, the second about decorative treatments and the third about blinds.

Curtains are fab elements to a home and can greatly enhance the ambient and style of your living environment. You can have lots of fun with fabric choices, colours, patterns, accessories, but what can be forgotten is the multiple choices of curtain header designs, and that is what I want to focus on here.

So, lets begin with Part I.
